Slow or Lack of Reviews

I am so sorry to any of our followers because I know how slow we are on publishing or writing reviews. Just so you know, we have over 30+ posts on our drafts. The problem is we are currently in our last year of high school, and it has been a very demanding and stressful year for us. So I’m deeply sorry.

[MV REVIEW] AOA - Elvis MV (Story & Band Ver.)

AOA is probably one of my most favourite female idol debuts of 2012, and I’ve been meaning to review them for quite while now. So here we go~

The music is all good but the problem is in the lyric department. The lyrics are just terrible. I can’t even sugar coat it. It’s simply boring and mediocre that it gets pretty tiring.

I really enjoyed Jimin’s parts. Although it doesn’t really look like it at first,  Jimin is actually a pretty unique rapper. At first if you don’t really get down to it, you’d think she’s just an idol that was trained to rap like many other female idol rappers these days but once you notice her charms, you’ll notice that Jimin is pretty different. Jimin is really charismatic and even quite sexy compared to other female idol rappers. Plus, what’s more sexy than a guitar playing female rapper? Nothing.

My favourite part of the choreo has got to be during Jimin’s part at 0:35, where she falls on the ground and bounces and the other two behind her do the same. It’s such an interesting move, and Jimin does it with so much class. It’s wonderful. I also love the choreo for the chorus, mainly because of Seolhyun. I don’t know if anyone else feel the same way but I find her absolutely perfect for the center role. If you compare the way she dances the chorus to the other members, there’s a noticeable difference between them. Although Seolhyun’s young, compared to the other members, she’s able to move her body in a certain way that innocent sexiness just oozes out.

The room they walked into is really weird, and I wish that whole scene was executed better. The room looks like it’s in a church which is so strange because it just oddly has stage clothing and instruments in it placed in awkward areas in the room.

I like how the stylist was really smart about their clothing choices and made it similar to Elvis Presley’s style. It’s really clever and I love how it doesn’t look cheesy at all. They still look feminine and classy. The problem with K-Pop sometimes is the fact that stylists tend to over exaggerate or overdress their idols when it comes to matching it with their concept.

Overall, even though this song is a bit of a bore in terms of lyrics, it’s still a pretty good song and it’s definitely the type of song where if you listen to it enough, you’ll probably like it a lot more than you did initially, especially if you listen to the band version. It definitely grows on you, and not in a bad way where you hated the song at first and you still hate it but it’s just so catchy that you don’t mind listening to it. No, it’s the type that’s already good and just becomes a lot better after awhile. The group and its concept itself do have their flaws but I believe AOA is one of the best female debut of 2012. Unlike the other female rookies, AOA has a different feel towards them. Maybe it’s because of FNC, since they always come out with incredible idols or maybe it’s because certain members do really well on bringing out some personality in the group. Who knows?

Undoubtedly, Jimin and Choa are the star of this group. Although some of the other members don’t really fall too much behind. it’s clear that the group wouldn’t be the same without these two.

S/N: this review isn’t perfect and I’m sorry but I had this in my drafts for quite a while now. It’s time to let it go~

[REVIEW/COMEBACK] TEEN TOP (틴탑) - (긴 생머리 그녀) Miss Right

The title translates to She With Long Straight Hair.

I came to hear this song when I clicked on the “Let’s Dance” video from Loen. I really like those vids cause it’s fun to see the idols teach their dance in their own words. However, with the segments they decided to show on ” Let’s Dance” it was all the “shake” parts and it was really weird to me. So my first impression on the song wasn’t exactly a good one until they did the Review, and I got to see it all together. That’s when I came to like it more. But in their Let’s Dance, they never played the full song, just like the chorus and a few verses. You can see their Let’s Dance here.

This is Teen Top’s second comeback following I Wanna Love and I must say, I like this song a bit more. It’s more upbeat and it’s just so, typical Teen Top music. It has this appeal to it that I think would attract the younger audience, the younger teen audience and it has a pretty fun dance that follows. I’m a sucker for songs with cool dances.

[REVIEW] Kim Jin Pyo ft. J.Rabbit (김진표 ft. 제이레빗) - Ahjussi (아저씨) MV

Well it’s been a while since I’ve last posted, and I find it pretty difficult to write reviews again but I’ll try my best just for J.Rabbit.

To start off, I feel inclined to introduce J.Rabbit (세이레빗) and Kim Jin Pyo (김진표) to all of our readers. Kim Jin Pyo has collaborated with many idols and singers over the years, and if you feel like you’ve never at all seen or heard of him before, you probably just weren’t paying attention. Even until now, I’m still trying to figure out where I know him from. The familiar feeling I get from him is just so difficult to ignore. As for J.Rabbit, by now a lot of avid k-drama watchers should at least know the basics about them seeing as they have OSTs for dramas such as, ‘If You Love Me’ from Operation Proposal and ‘Talking About Love’ from Flower Boy Next Door. But for the ones who don’t, J.Rabbit is a k-indie woman duo, who are currently part of a collaborative project with other indie artists under friendz.net. Their musical and vocal style is one that I absolutely love a lot, which is why I’m continually falling in love with their songs and especially Hyesung’s voice. I chose this song to write about for my first review in a year because I just find it so amazing how I found this song while I was jamming to my favourite song of the time Officially Missing You, Too” by Geeks feat. Soyu and I thought the thumbnail seemed really fun and light, so I decided to give it a try hoping it would be like OFMYT and it was.
